Cheung Cheu Island, Hong Kong, China

Went to hong Kong recently, and decided to hop on a ferry and get out of the city. Myself and a couple of friends ended up on Cheung Cheu Island which is about 45 mins from Hong Kong. The island is a small island supported by fishing and some small street vendors. There are no cars allowed, and everyone travels by foot or bike. It was a beautiful day, and I saw some interesting places I had never been.

Dried fish is a very common commodity sold by local fishermen and street vendors on the island. I didn't have the guts to try one....

The coast of the island was mostly cliffs and rocks with a few beaches.

"The mini Great Wall" as the locals call it.

Anyone read Cantonese? I have no idea what this says.

More Singapore!

More photos from The Crazy Elephant that my computer failed to publish in the last entry...

Singapore

So when I thought of Singapore originally, I pictured something more like Malaysia I guess... Rain forest, mokeys swingin around, everyone walking or riding bikes, and other jungle type scenes..... SO, when I got off the train, I thought I was somehow in NYC by accident. Apparently Singapore is a very wealthy country, and has some amazing architecture, and accomidations. Pretty cool place.

Stingray for dinner! It was so hot tears and snot were everywhere. I got some funny looks.

Over at Clarke Quay in Singapore eating lunch and watching the Sampans cruise by.

Downtown Singapore.

The following night shots of the city were taken from this boat on top of these buildings.
